Dog Fouling – Message for dog owners from the Parish Council

Following the report of an increase in dog fouling in some areas of the parish from a concerned resident, Knowstone Parish Council is issuing this polite reminder to all dog owners to clear up after their dog wherever it fouls – on the Highway, on verges, in the churchyard, on footpaths which go through farmer’s fields etc. It is of particular concern where dogs foul in fields that are grazed by livestock as dog excrement is harmful to sheep and cattle, causing abortion in both as well as serious and fatal illnesses. The quality of the silage is also affected.
