Housing needs survey
Please see below details of a Housing Needs Survey which will be arriving on doormats and in post boxes in Knowstone in the coming weeks and will be sent out by the Devon Rural Housing Partnership. Please take the time to complete the form.
Are there people in the parish unable to buy or rent a home? Have people had to move away to find an affordable home? In order to provide housing information for a site at the old Blackerton Care Home, a housing need survey will be carried out in February to establish the level of housing need and the support for a small affordable housing development.
The 4 parishes of East Anstey, West Anstey, Knowstone and Molland will all be included in this survey. The survey will be carried out by Devon Communities Together (DCT), an independent charity, part of the Devon Rural Housing Partnership, who will produce an independent report. The survey is being administered by the Rural Housing Enabler at DCT. They will process the information and all personal details will remain confidential. No individual will be able to be identified from the survey report.
In February DCT will be posting a survey form to every home in the 4 parishes. It is really important that as many households as possible complete and return the form so that they can obtain as comprehensive a picture as possible of housing need. The figures obtained will help to plan for the future and ensure that, if a need is identified, the correct number and size of homes are built for local people.
If you know someone who has moved away from any of the 4 parishes because they cannot afford accommodation then they can also complete the form. Extra forms can be obtained from Janice Alexander at Devon Communities Together on 01392 248919 Ext 7122 or email janice@devoncommunities.org.uk. Anyone needing any help with the form should also contact Janice for assistance. If you believe you are in need of affordable housing, you should register with Devon Home Choice at www.devonhomechoice.com.
