Three injured in van and truck head-on crash
Police are appealing for witnesses after a "serious collision" in South Molton which left three people with injuries, one of them life-threatening.
Emergency services were called after a white Ford Transit van was involved in a head-on crash with a removal truck on the A361 at Moortown Cross at about 12:30 on Monday 22nd May.
The van driver, a 61-year-old man from Barnstaple, had to be removed from the vehicle by the fire service. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition, police said.
The driver of the Scania Pantechnicon truck, a 31-year-old man from Plymouth, was also removed by the fire service. He sustained a serious arm injury and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
His passenger, a 55-year-old man also from Plymouth, received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.The road was closed for nine hours while officers carried out a forensic examination of the scene.
